Thanks to funding from the Spanish organization CONEMUND, OGCDC organized two training courses for teachers within the network of special education classes/schools for children with intellectual disabilities. The training courses, named as “Strengthening Teaching Skills for Teachers of Special Education for Children with Intellectual Disabilities”, were held in Nam Dong mountainous district in two periods of 8-12 August and 22-26 August 2011; and in Hue City on 15-26 August 2011. Besides teaching skills in the universal elementary curriculum to be used for the children with more progresses in the special education classes, teachers were provided with more knowledge and skills in language support and sense stimulation for children with multiple disabilities. Following the training courses, it is very necessary to assist in applying personalized knowledge and equipment for individual children and groups of children, for example making charts of hand signals or pictures communication, and planning for daily class activities.

Base on the cooperation of The sponsoring Association for Poor Patients in Ho Chi Minh City and “EARS 2 YOU” with sponsors are Dr. Michael and Mrs. Yeon Foley (USA) perform “The Sound and voice for hearing impaired children”. Office of Genetic Counseling and Disabled Children (OGCDC) - Hue College of Medicine and Pharmacy have combined to organize the audiogram to hearing impaired children on September 23 th - 24th 2011 with collaboration of Mr. Nguyen Van Be - Teacher in “Hy Vong School”, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City. And 55 hearing impaired children who study in some disabled school and centre in Thua Thien Hue Province received the hearing aids on November 18th 2011.
