Looking at the other children playing happily with their parents, Phuoc’s grandmother cannot help feeling a pang of sadness for her disabled grandchild – Nguyen Minh Phuoc. Not as lucky as other children, Phuoc has congenital cerebral palsy. In his mind, he might not even know how unfortunate he is. nguyen_minh_phuoc.jpgAt 7, Phuoc has never been in the loving arms of his parents. His deceased mother left him when she passed away after giving birth to Phuoc at 17. His father does not care about his poor child at all. He rejected Phuoc and denied his existence. Over 7 years, Phuoc lived with his grandparents in a poor area in Phu Loc District. He lived under the protection and love of his grandparents. All of the income depends on the grandfather who is a fisherman. He works laboriously every night to catch a few fish or shrimps to earn money to take care of the poor child and to pay for their living fees. When he cannot fish, he works for hire to earn a bit more money. Since Phuoc’s birth, his grandmother has only stayed at home to take care of him. Besides living fees, they also have problems paying for the study of Phuoc’s aunt.

Despite their difficulties and misfortunes, they always hope for a day when Phuoc’s health would be better. With their hope, the grandmother took him to the hospital for physiotherapy. Through OGCDC, the difficulties of the two of them were alleviated with the support of donators.

We would like to take this opportunity to send our thanks to those who have helped us sharing the burdens of disabled children and their families.
