The happiness of a poor family Print E-mail

Today we would like to share with you the very sad circumstance of Nguyen Tam Phat, a child with congenital heart disease. With the care and sharing of the benefactors, he had an operation and has a healthy heart now.

nguyen_tam_phat.jpgPhat’s parents got married and moved out 4 years ago. Both of their parents’ families are indigent so they cannot help this new couple much. The only asset they have is the run-down house built on the land of a relative. It is hot in the summer and cannot block the cold winds of the winter. Despite all of these, they still lived happily with each other and never stopped hoping for a brighter future. Joy came to them when their children were born. This was, however, short-lived because their second son, Nguyen Tam Phat, had congenital heart disease. This difficultyfamily_of_nguyen_tam_phat.jpg and misfortune did not discourage them. They still tried to work as hard as possible to improve their lives and to take better care of their children. They couple helped each other in farming but the income from this line of work is not much and depends on the weather. When they are not farming the father tries to work for hire in order to earn more money for the family. Since Phat was ill, the mother had to stay at home to look after the children and could not do any work. All of the income now rests upon the small amount of money the father earns so their lives become even needier. However, they always wished for a chance to cure Phat of his heart disease. It is impossible for them to find 20,000,000 dong to give Phat his operation, though, due to their poor income.

They came to OGCDC to ask for support for the heart operation. With the great help of the donators, Phat had his operation. Looking at his bright smile, we feel reassured and believe that he would have a much better future with a healthy heart. We would like to take this chance to express our gratitude to the sponsors who have helped us to share the burden of the poor souls in the society.
