One of the cases with the hardest circumstance receiving heart surgery fee by kind benefactors would like to be shared with you.
The joys of the family had not appeared totally yet as Anh Nguyen came into being, then the family was forced to suffer from life-thunder news that the child had Down syndrome. Their worries doubled when 2 months later the child had been diagnosed with congenital heart defect which needed operating with high fee whereas daily frugal meals are even one of their greatest concerns.

The Mid-Autumn festival for children with disabilities |

 In the last Mid-Autumn Festival, the children with intellectual disabilities of the 8 special classes in Nam Dong commune and in Duc Son had chance to meet and exchange together and have enjoyed greatly significant time by the generous support of Children of Vietnam Organization (USA). All of the children have been absorbed in dragon dance and different interesting activities. So to speak, this is one of the first wonderful moments that they have ever experienced both in spiritual and material sides in their lives. Besides, the Children of Vietnam also supported a party to all children with intellectual disabilities in Future School. We hope that, in the future the poor children can receive more help from kind hearts so that they can benefit many joys as the life would originally mean to grant for.

 In order to give learning opportunity for children with disabilities, the Future School has organized the examination 17 children with learning disabilities with the age range from 4 to 11. After having children’s assessment as well as making interview with parents about children’s development, 12 children are recruited. They are now integrating well in the classes. The young children with disabilities will be supported in the Early Intervention Program which is implemented by OGCDC in October 2009.
